Scott O. Mears, Jr. was born in Gross-Umstadt, Germany on May 5, 1970, but grew up in Greensburg. In 1992, he was graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. From there, he went on to the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, where he served on the Appellate Moot Court Board. He was graduated from Dickinson in 1996. After graduating from law school, he joined his father at Mears, Smith, Houser & Boyle as an associate. He became a full partner in the firm in 1999. Scott has concentrated his practice in personal injury and civil trial work, representing both injured people and insurance companies. However, he also performs municipal work (acting as the Solicitor for the Borough of New Florence) as well as wills & estates, elder law, real estate, and adoptions. As far as organizations, Scott is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Westmoreland Bar Association, and the Westmoreland-American Inns of Court. In 2007, he was awarded membership in the Westmoreland Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2009, he was appointed Co-Chairman of the Westmoreland Bar Association Civil Committee. In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Monique, and his two boys, Max and Christian. |
